GST E-Ways Bill
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a crucial aspect for businesses, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and avoiding discrepancies in business records. It is essential to update and modify GST details on time through core or non-core amendments. While most details can be changed, PAN details remain unmodifiable. Additionally, GST can be transferred under certain conditions.
GST, an indirect tax, was implemented on July 1, 2017. Businesses engaged in the exclusive supply of goods must register for GST if their annual turnover exceeds Rs. 40 lakhs. Upon registration, a unique Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) is issued. GST registration remains valid indefinitely unless canceled, surrendered, or suspended. However, non-resident taxable persons and casual taxable persons receive a GST registration certificate with a fixed validity period determined by the authorities.

Who is Eligible to Register for GST?
Any individual or company that has started or plans to start a business can register for GST. Registration is mandatory for businesses exceeding the turnover threshold, interstate suppliers, e-commerce sellers, casual taxable persons, and those under the reverse charge mechanism.

Is that mandatory to have business place for e-commerce business or service providers?
No, it is not mandatory to have a separate business place for e-commerce businesses or service providers. They can register for GST using their residential address as their business location
By registering with GST, any individual or company is legally recognized as a supplier of goods or services, allowing them to collect tax and avail input tax credit while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
GST registration legally authorizes an individual or company to collect tax from customers and pass on the goods or services supplied to the purchasers/recipients while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
Small businesses that do not maintain detailed accounts and have a turnover below Rs. 1.5 crores (Rs. 75 lakhs for special category states) can opt for the Composition Scheme, allowing them to pay GST at a fixed rate with reduced compliance requirements.
